The Position:
The Community Support Worker will work in a small team to provide people in the Ballarat community access to emergency food support. The objectives of the position are:
- Coordinate Community Breakfast and Christmas Hamper program in the Ballarat region.
- Supervise and support volunteers at the Community Breakfast program and the Christmas Hamper program.
- Coordinate reporting, supplies and budgeting requirements for the Community Breakfast and the Christmas hamper programs.
- Assist in Emergency Relief services in the Ballarat region as required.
To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:
- A demonstrated commitment to supporting people from all backgrounds including those who are homeless to access food and services.
- A relevant qualification in community development, welfare, youth, recreation or related discipline and/or demonstrated experience in community development or working with parishes to assist people in need.
- A demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and to offer leadership and encouragement to volunteers.
- A commitment to social justice principles, and specifically to the aims of Anglicare Victoria as outlined in its Strategic Directions.
- A demonstrated ability to work in partnership with a range of stakeholders including the Anglican Church.
- Competent report writing/correspondence and communication skills.
- Computer skills in all the Microsoft Office suite including specific database applications.
- Hold a current Victorian driver’s license.
