Alderley Kindergarten has a rare opportunity for a part-time, passionate and qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our community Kindergarten, working every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (QLD school term times). The successful candidate will be available to commence the role from early in term 3, in July 2024.
About the role:
- Early childhood teacher position for our Monday-Wednesday group (8:30am-2:30pm)
- Part time role: 45 hours a fortnight
- Non-contact time provided outside of teaching hours and all school holidays off
- Position commencing Monday 22nd July 2024 or sooner

About Our Kindergarten:
Alderley Kindergarten is a not-for-profit Community Kindergarten, affiliated with The Gowrie (QLD), which has been providing a play based early childhood program for over 70 years. Operated by a parent committee, Alderley Kindergarten has a non-contact director/teacher and dedicated team of professionals who work together to provide the exceeding service provision. Alderley Kindergarten operates as a double-unit service, catering for Kindergarten children from 3 years to school entry.
Alderley Kindergarten offers two Kindergarten programs, a 3 day per week (8:30am-2:30pm) and a 2 day per week (8am-3:30pm). We also provide families with Outside Hours Care, operating from 7:30am to 5:30pm, and Vacation Care during the term break periods. This is a much-loved program of our community and a reason that many families choose our Kindergarten for their child’s early education.
About the role:
This is a part time position, working 45 hours over a fortnight. There is also the potential for additional teaching hours to support the relief of our current teaching teams. You will be working alongside a long-standing and experienced team of educators and teachers who are passionate about early childhood education and in particular, Community Kindergartens.
About you:
For this position we are looking for someone who is passionate about the early years and Community Kindergartens. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their experience working in prior to school settings (community kindy's would be an advantage). They will be well-versed in understandings of the EYLF, QKLG & NQF and have sound knowledge and understanding of the National Law & Regulations.
The successful candidate will be passionate about play-based learning and providing an innovative and creative learning environment for kindergarten aged children. You will be committed to ongoing professional development and best practice within the early childhood sector.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated capacity to work alongside fellow educators to support the ongoing quality improvement of a setting. They will also have demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and high level interpersonal skills.
Above all, the successful candidate will have an exemplary ability to foster constructive and respectful partnerships with children and families.
The successful candidate will have:
- Completed Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent, as recognised by ACECQA as an Early Childhood Teaching qualification
- Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers prior to appointment.
- A current Blue Card or Exemption Card
- Current First Aid Certificate, including Anaphylaxis and Asthma
- Demonstrated experience working within an early childhood and Community Kindergarten environment
