We are seeking an Early Childhood Teacher passionate about play-based learning to join our team at JCK on a PPT (Thursday, Friday, alternative Wednesday) contract through to the end of 2024. As a teacher, you will have the unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and contribute to their educational journey during these formative years.
Jamboree Community Kindergarten is a well-resourced kindergarten offering beautiful and well-maintained grounds with natural play areas and a nurturing, stimulating and educational centre with an aesthetically pleasing environment for children to play, interact and learn with other children, parents, and educators.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a play-based program aligned with QKLG and C&K’s Listening and Learning Together Curriculum Approach.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and engaged.
- Engage in reflective practice to enrich children’s learning and complete documentation that ensures each child’s learning is visible.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that respects the diversity of children and their families.
- Collaborate with parents and families to build strong partnerships and promote open communication.
- Collaborate with a team of educators to plan and implement engaging activities, experiences, and projects that stimulate children's curiosity and creativity.
- Establish positive relationships with families involving them in their child's learning journey.
- Comply with all JCK policies and procedures and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about best practices in Early Childhood education.
Qualifications:
- Hold an ACECQA recognized qualification in Early Childhood education (minimum Bachelor level or equivalent)
- Possess a current and valid Blue Card or Exemption Card
- Demonstrated experience working with young children in an Early Childhood setting, with a sound understanding of the National Quality Framework and Standards, the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) and Listening and Learning together C&K’s Curriculum Approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, families, and colleagues.
- Passionate about Early Childhood education, with a commitment to providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and implement age-appropriate experiences and assess children's progress effectively.
- Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers is desirable but not compulsory
