Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to assist a client who 17 yrs of age with CP and FOXG1 mutation who has limited life expectancy. This role requires a compassionate individual who can provide high-quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering PEJ feeding/medication administration, and to vent stomach of air
  • Familiar with BiPAP machines
  • Skilled in the use of slide sheets for safe client handling.
  • Ensuring client has excellent basic nursing care, mouth toilets, pressure area care, massage, all grooming

Requirements:

Previous experience working in a community setting
Awareness of and commitment to providing reliable support with compassion and care.

Availability for regular bookings these are:

Wednesday to Saturday nights inclusive from 2330 - 0730 hrs.

If you can fill one of these nights on regular basis this would be beneficial for client's continuity of care. 

This is just one of many clients we support with in-home nursing care. If you are interested in Community Work, we look forward to hearing from you.

We cover a wide area of Victoria down to the Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley, outer Northern Suburbs and close to Geelong.

We provide general nursing care, continence support/assessments/stoma care/wound assessments/care, palliative care both paediatric through to adults etc.

About you:

You are a dedicated nurse who enjoys working in the community to support people meet their health goals and objectives. You have excellent communication skills, are caring, compassionate and are a great team player.

  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Minimum of 2 years  experience in a hospital setting required
  • Palliative, wound care or continence specialist experience highly regarded
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge, judgment, and skill in providing professional support to patients with complex needs
  • Excellent communication skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach to your work
  • Computer literate and able to use MS Office, email, and rostering systems
  • Current First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling Certificate
  • Able to provide proof of COVID Vaccination (3 doses)
  • Current Police Check and Working with Children Check
