About the Department for Correctional Services
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties
The incumbent is responsible to the Team Supervisor (Remote), for:

• supervision of offenders assigned to community based work programs in accordance with statutory, Departmental and Work Health and Safety requirements.
• liaison with a variety of Government and non-Government agencies in relation to the supervision of offenders assigned to various project work, including specific cost share work.

Special Conditions

• Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
• The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
• A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential;
• A flexible approach to working hours is required;
• Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
• Appointees may be re-assigned to other locations within the region to perform duties of a similar nature and classification.

Desirable: Relevant trade qualifications and / or certificates of competency training
Remuneration
OPS2 ($29.56 per hour - $31.81 per hour)

Additional Information
This position will be required to undertake duties in Coober Pedy other remote locations.
This is a temporary vacancy for up to 12 months.
25 percent casual loading applies, in lieu of annual and sick leave.
This is a CASUAL vacancy that may experience irregular hours.
