The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. The Casual Community Service Supervisor is responsible individually, or as a team member, for
- supervision of offenders assigned to community based work programs in accordance with statutory, Departmental and Work Health and Safety requirements;
- liaison with a variety of Government and non-Government agencies in relation to the supervision of offenders assigned to various project work, including specific cost recovery work.
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
- A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential.
- A flexible approach to working hours is required.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
- A Senior First Aid Certificate is essential.
- May be required to work as directed at the Victor Harbor outreach centre.

This is a casual pool for up to 12 months with no guaranteed hours of employment and a 25 percent casual loading applies in lieu of annual and sick leave. The successful applicant(s) may have the opportunity to work across Southern Region Community Correctional sites, located at Adelaide, Port Adelaide, Edwardstown and Noarlunga.
