The Community Services Trainer position will assist in delivering accredited and non-accredited courses in Language Literacy and Numeracy, Foundation Skills as well as a range of vocational courses with innovative and culturally appropriate programs.

Your new role
As a Community Services Trainer, your work will make a real and lasting impact for job seekers in this remote Aboriginal Community on the Tiwi Islands in NT.
You will be required to plan, design and deliver Certificate II & Certificate III in Community Services to adult learners for whom English may not be their first language and literacy and numeracy skills may be low. Some travel may be required across both Bathurst and Melville islands.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate must hold the following Qualifications:
- A minimum qualification in Certificate III in Community Services with current Industry experience
- TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or its successor) and have qualifications and/or recent industry experience in the Community Services sector, at least to the level being delivered.
You will draw on your experience applying adult learning principals, creativity and innovation to your delivery and assessment approach, including design, mapping, validation and moderation of compliant assessment tools. You will be able to coordinate students' enrollments, drive, monitor and report on progress. In addition, you will have proven ability to undertake administrative functions with respect to training programs and have advanced knowledge of MS Office.
Experience in the remote Aboriginal environment and knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies and cultures will be very highly regarded.

- Working knowledge of the Community Services training package.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies and cultures and an understanding of the issues affecting Indigenous people in contemporary Australian society and the diversity of circumstances of Indigenous people.
- Experience designing and delivering education and training programs for Indigenous adults for whom English is not a first language and literacy and numeracy skills are low.
- Ability to apply adult learning principles, creativity, innovation and consideration of individual learning needs to ensure that training programs meet client needs.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Office.
Provide copies of the following Qualifications & Licences:
- A minimum qualification in Certificate III in Community Services with current Industry experience
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or TAE40116) or a diploma or higher level qualification in adult education.
- Full Australian Drivers’ licence
