Disability Service Officer

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Disability Service Officer to join our team. As a Disability Service Officer, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to people with disabilities, ensuring they have access to the services they need to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Work with clients to identify their needs and develop plans to meet those needs
• Assist clients in accessing a range of services including health care, education, housing, employment, and social support
• Provide information and support to clients and their families about disability-related issues and services
• Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure their needs are met and their rights are protected
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, service providers, and other stakeholders
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social work, disability studies, or human services is preferred
• A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a Disability Service role is required
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Strong advocacy skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Knowledge of disability-related legislation and policies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using databases and client management systems
