  • Full Time, Permanent Position
  • Classification: SCHADS Level 3 with a salary range of $71,215 - $76,353 per annum + Superannuation

About your new role

Sustaining Tenancies in Social Housing (STSH) provides varying levels of support, including case management, to tenants whose tenancy is deemed at risk by the social housing provider, Homes NSW. The work is predominantly within the Southwest Sydney region between Leumeah and Glenfield (Macquarie Fields Portfolio).

The role is responsible for working with tenants who have been identified as having an 'at risk' tenancy to address the concerns raised by Homes NSW. It is required that you will work collaboratively with Homes NSW staff, Tharawal Housing Aboriginal Corporation, Neami and key external stakeholders with the common goal of supporting tenants to meet obligatory requirements of their tenancy agreement to sustain their tenancy.

The program works with people for a period of up to 12-months to assist in development of skills, knowledge and resources that will allow a person to sustain their tenancy on their own moving forward into the future.

What you will bring to the role

  • Previous experience working within the homelessness sector, and exposure to working with people with AOD issues, Mental Health concerns as well as people who were involved with justice and corrections (justice and corrections is desirable).
  • Demonstration of integrity, honesty, credibility.
  • Ability to foster open and clear communication, with an understanding and ability to adapt to the need for use of person-centred and inclusive language.
  • Actively listens to and consults with others to ensure collaborate work can be completed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to positively navigate and address conflict, as well as being able to use critical self-awareness, can reflect and take on constructive feedback.
  • Can demonstrate good understanding for the need to maintain clear and up to date documentation in line with legislation and internal policy.
  • Has genuine interest and understanding of others and can relate to all people at varying levels.

  • National Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered.
