- Based in Perth WA office, travel and on client site work required.
- Product development - Working with both face to face and remote clients and colleagues.
Purpose
To design new products and refine existing Product Designs, by collaborating with clients and colleagues and trialling concepts as required. Includes assisting clients with new product installations, and documentation for this.
Key Responsibilities
- Scan and measure machines for new products & improvements
- Document and sketch new designs & improvements
- Validate completed designs and drawings for handing over to production
- Organise and attend site for product fittings; to
- Supervise and assist with fit ups
- Assess fit of existing design
- Identify improvements in fit and function
- Attend sites to review existing product challenges and determine solutions
- Set up and facilitate product and component tests & trials
- Generate product documentation & fitting guides
- Product technical support
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Have a can do attitude, be a creative solution finder. Obstacles are there for getting over!
- Able to travel and attend customer sites, occasionally this may be on a weekend
- Not be afraid of getting your hands dirty – ie doing what needs to be done
- Be flexible with working hours when required for customers
- Be a positive and clear communicator and negotiator, with customers and colleagues.
Required experience / knowledge
- Industrial physical product development experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Practical workshop experience is highly valued, demonstrating hands-on expertise and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings.
- Desired experience in mining / civil industries
- CAD experience beneficial
