Suncare Support Worker - what's involved in the role?
We are currently seeking Part Time Support Workers to support our customers. This is a rewarding community-based role where you will be supported by engaged managers and have ongoing support.
The hours when Support Worker services are performed is typically between Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm. We invite you to share your availability and hours you would prefer to work. For example, we have a Part Time contract for 60 hours per fortnight and an example of a roster is Monday-Friday 8.30am-3pm.
The role of a Suncare Support Worker actively supports the individual needs of aged people who are living at home, either independently or with family. No two days are the same with our customers and may include delivering personal care, household domestic assistance (cleaning bathrooms, mopping, dusting), meal preparation, accompanying them on shopping trips, appointments, community activities, providing general companionship, and helping them build social networks.
About you:
While a background or qualification in community services (e.g Certificate III in Individual Support) is advantageous, more important are the attributes that you possess that speak to our values. We want our customers to have a great experience with our people, and our people need to have a great attitude, be friendly, willing to learn new things, and most importantly listen and understand what the customer wants. If you are motivated, passionate and excited by the prospect of a new career opportunity, we will help you to gain the skills and experience you require to be successful at Suncare.
For this position you will be required to be physically fit, hold a valid Queensland Driver's licence and be willing to use your own vehicle for work purposes, ensuring that your vehicle is appropriately insured. A National Police Check and CPR and First Aid certificates are also required in this position. You will also have the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
