Reporting to Robert Henry, Manager - Project Quality & Completions, could you be our new Completions Engineer?

The Completions Engineer supports Projects to develop and manage project requirements associated with project quality, verification, validation, completion, and handover of the works.

The position takes a role in ensuring projects completions and handover management processes and requirements are followed, delivered on time and to V/Line’s requirements. The position also assists and facilitates projects meeting the mandatory requirements of JDE Asset Management, DTP DMS, and PASS Asset Systems.

About the role

In this role, you will:

  • Review and develop the lot structure, template and populated completion reports, construction packs, quality lots, inspection & testing plans, quality forms, and checklists.
  • Support the development of project requirements associated with project quality, verification, validation, completion, and as-built documentation of works.
  • Attend and represent V/Line in client and contractor completion meetings, audits, site inspections and reviews.
  • Liaise with contractors for verification and review of their quality and completion documents.
  • Review and develop project completions or quality plans, incl. verification and validation of works.
  • Train & develop others in completions and handover management.
  • Assist with the development of a quality and compliance audit schedule.
  • Contribute to the review of process and quality non-conformances, proposed remedial measures, and dispensations requested.
  • Attend completion site inspections and maintain omissions and defects list.
  • Support rail safety accreditation and ensure V/Line’s IMS requirements are understood and followed.
  • Prepare project status reports, stakeholder presentations, and team communications.

Essential requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or similar).
  • 3- 5 years’ experience quality and completions experience.

In this role, it is essential that you can:

  • Maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Meet the demands and timelines of multiple projects and making sure completions and handover activities are completed to schedule.
  • Stay engaged with the project and business throughout its lifecycle, even in high-activity environments.

This is a Medical Category 3 role.

Desirable attributes

The following are desirable (but not mandatory):

  • Quality Auditor certification.
  • Registration as a Chartered Professional Engineer, or eligibility to register.
  • Relevant demonstrated experience in a similar role within the rail industry.

This is a two-year fixed-term full-time opportunity with salary in the range $124,100 TRP (Total Remuneration Package) and $150,400 TRP.
