GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based on Gunaikurnai Country in Bairnsdale, Victoria. Consisting of about 160 staff, GEGAC is a Not for Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC is a child safe agency and has a zero tolerance of abuse or neglect of children and young people.
Position Purpose
Working within the Tanderra wellbeing team, the Complex Case Worker will help Mob with multiple needs. As a Support Worker you will support the wellbeing of people and families with a focus on culture and connection to increase the social and emotional wellbeing of Mob.
Key Selection Criteria
- Essential knowledge of working with Aboriginal clients with complex needs across the spectrum of Social Emotional Wellbeing.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skills in complex assessment and case management.
- Demonstrated capacity to maintain sensitive information, always maintain confidentiality and remain impartial.
- Experience in Microsoft Office computer packages.
- Valid Driver’s License ESSENTIAL
- Cert IV or higher in social work, community services or undertaking, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of previous experience in work-related fields. ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience working in a Medical Centre or medical environment ESSENTIAL
- A knowledge of Aboriginal culture and prior experience working within an Aboriginal community DESIRABLE
- Satisfactory Working with Children Check and Criminal Records Check ESSENTIAL
- A person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with mandatory vaccination directive applying to authorised workers ESSENTIAL
