ConnectEast is the owner and operator of EastLink, Melbourne’s second fully electronic tollway. Since opening in June 2008, EastLink has established a reputation as one of Melbourne’s busiest and safest motorways. ConnectEast participates in an annual international sustainability assessment (GRESB) and in 2023 ranked number #1 motorway for the second consecutive year, for operations and maintenance | motorways, in the Asia-Pacific region. 

About the role:

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our IT team our ensure that our customer billing and tolling systems remain operational, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  Reporting to our Computer System Operator Team Lead, this fulltime position will provide an excellent opportunity for the incumbent to apply their prior experience and knowledge while working closely with our external providers and vendors as well as our internal departments.

Due to the nature of the company’s activities, this position is part of a shift roster system providing 18 / 7 / 365 coverage, supporting all business systems and functions.

Within this role you will (but not limited to):

  • Optimise business processes to further improve efficiency and stabilisation.
  • Regularly review and update existing operations and IT support processes to ensure ongoing appropriateness. 
  • Proactively identify, document and implement automation solutions to both existing and new systems and/or processes 
  • Engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders where needed and seek guidance from IT Operations Team Leader as required.
  • Ensure all agreed Service Level Agreements with the business are met.
  • Follow and adhere to all the daily system checklists and procedures.
  • Ensure the workload automation toolset (Control-M) is functioning as expected; all scheduled daily activities complete correctly and action all applicable alerts and notifications when they occur.
  • Provide advice for configuration changes, functional changes and other improvements to operational processes to support ConnectEast business units.
  • Provide input and expert guidance to all non-standard operational related activities including release management, new operation schedules, outages (planned and unplanned) and general operational activities.
  • Ensure all system and environmental alarms have been actioned in accordance with relevant support staff and processes.
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of planned outages and rescheduling of activities in the event of unplanned outages.
  • Participate in the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate Disaster Recovery and Business Continuance Plans for all critical systems.
  • Investigate and gather information as required to assist in the resolution of incidents and/or problems. 
  • Maintain confidentiality, security and integrity with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
