Concrete Field Technician

BGC’s Materials Technology Centre is a NATA accredited construction materials testing technology hub based in Hazelmere.  At MTC you will be part of a team that deliver accurate and timely results to our clients and will have the ability to progress your career within MTC and across BGC.
  
This is a full-time permanent role working Monday – Friday with overtime available including some Saturdaywork.
  
As a Field Materials Technician you will:

• Sample and test concrete products
• Undertake a variety of manual tasks in the field and laboratory
• Ensure testing is performed in accordance with industry standards
• Ensure test results are both accurate and timely
• Follow Inspection and Test Plans to carry out production and compliance testing
• Undertake routine QA checks
• Calibration and maintenance of equipment

Being an autonomousrole primarily based in the field, you will be able to work unsupervised, be physically fit and enjoy being hands-on.  This role can involve tight deadlines and timeframes so you must be reliable and punctual with a strong customer-focused outlook.
  
In addition, to be successful in this position you MUST have:

• Good time management and organisational skills
• Ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Great attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn
• Be risk aware and have a strong personal commitment to safety
• Current motor vehicle driver’s licence
• Construction Industry White Card
• Flexibility to work Saturdays when required
• Flexibility to travel across the Perth metropolitan region
• Experience in construction materials testing is preferred, however training will be provided
