Salary: $55,466 - $62,352 p.a. plus 11% SuperFixed-Term, 3-month ContractAdverse Working Conditions AllowanceAbout the roleThis is a 3-month, fixed term, full-time position working 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7.00 am to 4.00 pm) and will be based at Bomaderry Works Depot.DutiesReporting directly to the Team Supervisor – Northern Construction, the focus of this position is to:Undertake manual tasks including but not limited to shovelling, screeding, raking, digging, lifting and traffic controlOperate and maintain small plant items such as chainsaws, plate compactors, jack picks, concrete saws, electric power tools, vegetation trimmers, etcTo work under routine supervision and direction either individually or in a team environment on a range of projectsDeliver quality workmanship in all tasksComplete standard paperwork such as timesheets and daily site safety checklists both written and electronically.Operate and maintain medium heavy plant items, rollers, heavy and light rigid trucks as requiredUndertake concreting tasks to completionAny other tasks and activities within the construction / maintenance environment within the employees’ abilities.On call – Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.Skills & ExperienceTo be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:School Certificate or equivalentMinimum of 12 months’ work experience in civil construction and/or maintenance activitiesMinimum NSW Class MR Driver’s Licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW‘Traffic Controller’ and ‘Implement Traffic Control Plans’ or willingness to obtainCurrent NSW General Construction Induction Card (Whitecard) or acceptable interstate alternative.Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (Visa)About Shoalhaven City CouncilShoalhaven City Council is a dynamic organisation serving a large and diverse community; limitless opportunity exists for an exciting and rewarding career.
