You could be one of our 2700 committed team members who are up to the challenge.About the roleAs a key member of V/Line’s front line customer service team, the V/Line Conductor is responsible for the delivery of on train customer service to V/Line customers as well as customer safety on board trains. Every day will be different, and you'll thrive in the fast-paced environment that will see you embedded in our frontline, connecting with millions of people from across Victoria.The role is highly autonomous therefore you’ll possess a level of maturity, previous success in operating in a safety and time critical environment and an absolute commitment to providing superior customer service. Key Accountabilities include:Provide high level of customer service to the travelling public.Assist customers with checked luggage and loading onto coaches.Sell and check tickets whilst onboard train and ensure safe departure of train, reporting any faults and delays where appropriate.Provide customers with information on services and further travel.Ensure appropriate and up to date customer information occur in instances of service disruption.New Conductors are offered the following:Ongoing, part-time employmentGuaranteed 16 hours per fortnight (with the possibility to pick up extra shifts)Additional shifts scheduled across the rosterPaid training rate $33.1933 p/hr +superQualified rate of $44.3440 p/hr +superGenerous leave loadingFree Myki travelAbout youYou put people at the heart and take pride in the impact of your work.You’re a confident, customer-focused individual, with a background of face-to-face customer service, able to work a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays, early and late shifts and hold a valid driver’s license.You know how to adapt your communication to different customer groups and handle difficult situations on an autonomous level.Our ideal candidate will possess the following:Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work within rules and compliance frameworks.Friendly customer service skills.Strong safety awareness.Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.In addition to free Myki travel, we offer:Community impact – Make a genuine difference.
