That's why, we're looking for ambitious people like yourself to join the team.About The RoleThe Domain Architect is responsible for driving best practices within the PEXA International Delivery domain. They will have a deep understanding and passion for Architecture and Advisory, as well as new and emerging Technology.A true Team Player who thrives in providing solution architecture and design advice at the Executive Level, the Domain Architect will form an integral part in shaping the culture of a new team within PEXA.The Domain Architect will make it their mission to foster the design and development of a common platform for multiple jurisdictions and markets that can be quickly adapted to local concerns.Comfortable communicating across all levels of the organization, you enjoy facilitating and participating in design workshops, as well as undertaking research activities to ensure that the target state design aligns to PEXA's Technology Strategy.You will be experienced in collaborating with external partners to deliver at pace, through the development and maintenance of strong relationships, whilst applying a level of architectural oversight to ensure that PEXA's patterns and design principles are applied, and quality outcomes achieved.Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the creation of architecture vision, and strategy and supporting execution roadmap, aligning with the corporate and IT strategy, industry trends, tooling, methods, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain an architectural roadmap for key solution components in the International Domain - work with the build partner and engineers to evolve the roadmap, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Engineer and Build Partner Architecture Team/s to develop a set of Design Principles and Architecture Guard Rails for the new platform/s, taking existing standards into consideration.
  • Collaborate in the development of a review and approval framework for key design decisions for the Project, including build approach, architecture, and design principles, etc.
  • Involved in ensuring the proposed architecture and tools are aligned with PEXA's organizational business and technical strategy.
  • The key decision maker in architectural decisions relating to the multi-jurisdictional cloud-native platform.
  • Growing business understanding of the importance of good architecture and the costs of tactical decision-making.
  • Work with external parties, including Financial Institutions, Regulators and Central Banks to design integration specifications, considering both internal and external dependencies.
  • Support the Sourcing Review Team to assess submissions from potential partners that will form part of our delivery teams and support the delivery of RFI/ RFP briefings, as well as supporting documentation.
  • Work with the build partner and internal teams to develop an approach to documenting technical designs, as well as the review and approval process, including acceptance criteria.
  • Support the growth of PEXA's engineering culture by seeking to relentlessly improve the engineering experience through modern tooling, DevSecOps pipelines, adoption of the cloud, automation and driving transformational ideas which accelerate value for our members.

Required Experience
  • Industry and Function
  • Experience as a solution architect for a major business unit or domain in a large organization.
  • Strong experience in the design and implementation of multi-jurisdictional solutions, including local regulatory considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with business stakeholders, technology stakeholders, as well as external groups, to develop Technology solutions and roadmaps.
  • Experience in Finance Services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Experience managing the architectures for large, enterprise-wide portfolios and/or multiple programs of work, including the associated stakeholder management, prioritisation, and balancing of supply vs demand.
  • Strong collaborator, with an ability to bring together inputs from different areas to create a holistic solution to meet the needs of the business unit.
  • Excellent communicator, able to negotiate, collaborate and explain difficult concepts to a variety of different audiences.
  • Experience consulting with senior business and technology stakeholders up to GM-level executives.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting cross-functional teams in collaboration with an external delivery Partner, across multiple geographies.
  • Market and Environment
  • Exceptional understanding of Digital and Cloud Technologies, preferably AWS.
  • Demonstrable experience designing, building, and implementing microservices and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience in facilitating effective use of Agile principles, processes, and behaviours to ensure Architecture standards and guidelines are adhered to during the iterative delivery, as well as ensuring successful and considered implementation of architecture features and roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of future technology trends, as well as a proven ability to maintain that knowledge.
  • Technical and Professional Qualifications/Skills Required
  • Strong consulting architecture skills. This includes a proven ability to understand business/customer needs, both stated and unstated, as well as an ability to address those needs by finding the right technology solution.
  • Demonstrated understanding of differing and best-in-class integration patterns to suit the technical maturity and capability of partners across multiple organisations.
  • Ability to design and sequence solutions, managing architectural debt within the constraints of integration partners and service providers.
  • Experience integrating business considerations such as security, resilience, monitoring and observability within the API and microservices design.
  • Continuously seek ways of improving the architectural function, eliminating waste, and driving out better ways of working.
