Incorporated in 1985, we began as a small group of local residents and researchers concerned about local engagement, the environment, and appropriate technology. Four decades later, we have become a renowned and respected non-government organisation. We are:

  • Specialised in native plant propagation & seed management of the Swan Coastal Plain & Darling Scarp.
  • Delivering environmental services to accelerate revegetation, restore biodiversity & preserve native plants.
  • Strengthening advocacy and action for the protection of planet, plants and people.
  • Generating environmental education and training programs and cultural exchange events.
  • Providing workplace opportunities for people with differing backgrounds, life experiences or abilities so people feel connected, respected and valued.
  • Promoting social cohesion as the collective bond and unity between individuals and communities to catalyse trust and a sense of belonging.
  • Providing community gardening opportunities for local residents.

Position Overview

The Conservation and Revegetation team at Apace is a passionate, growing team dedicated to providing exceptional landcare services.

As a Conservation and Revegetation Technician you will join the team at Apace, who work collaboratively across all functions of the organisation. Your terms and conditions of employment will be based on Grade 4 of the Nursery Award 2020.

Essential Competencies and Skills:

  • Qualification in Conservation and Land Management (min Cert III).
  • WA Pest Management Technician Licence.
  • Current C Class Manual Driver’s License and ability to drive with a trailer.
  • Commitment to the environment.
  • Knowledge of the flora of WA, in particular the flora of the Swan Coastal Plain and Darling Scarp.
  • Physically fit and capable of demanding outdoor work in different weather conditions.
  • Able to fit in with a small team and work independently.

Desirable Skills

  • Certificate in Work Health and Safety.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience in using machinery, such as chainsaws and brush cutters.
  • Knowledge and experience of plant propagation techniques and practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in seed collection and processing techniques.
