About the Role:
Headspace is funded by the Australian Government as part of its Youth Mental Health Initiative, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. The mission of headspace is to collaborate in design and deliver innovative ways of working with young people to strengthen their mental health and wellbeing, while ensuring that the evolving and unique needs of young people are at the heart of all endeavours. headspace Shepparton was established in 2013, with Goulburn Valley Health as the lead agency and with the support of five local agencies that form the headspace consortium advisory committee. As part of the commitment that headspace has to ensuring young people are at the centre of service design and delievery we wish to appoint and Youth Chairperson to our consortium.
The Consortium Youth Chairperson reports directly to the heaspace Manager within the headspace Shepparton team. The Chairperson’s role will be to prepare the agenda, set meeting dates, send out minutes and liaise with consortium members as required. Consortium meetings are held bi-monthly. The youth Chairperson will work towards operating as a consortium chair in the fullness of time with support and mentoring from a Co-Chair and/or Centre manager. A youth Co-Chair must gain support from their mentor to understand the breadth of the role and identify areas for growth and knowledge development.
