The Opportunity:
Hurst is currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing construction team in our Wheelers Hill office full time.
In this role, you will be responsible for the tendering and cost planning of internal and external projects across multiple states and market sectors. You will be responsible for ensuring all cost deliverables relating to your projects are complete, accurate and submitted in accordance with the tender conditions.
Key responsibilities:
· Working closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers and the Senior Leadership Group to cost plan a diverse range of internal and external projects from concept to tender phase
· Assuming a lead estimating role within bid teams to secure external tenders across multiple market sectors;
· Reviewing tender documentation and creating BOQ
· Engaging, and managing relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants;
· Managing external quantity surveyors and & other external bid support personnel to facilitate bid deliverables;
· Providing training & support for estimating cadets & other junior estimating team members;
· Contributing to the reporting of subcontractor, supplier and consultants performance;
· Supporting live projects with cost planning services as required
· Driving value management outcomes across all projects
· Supporting innovation initiatives within the business
Skills/Experience Required:
· 5+ years of previous demonstrable experience and success in both cost planning and tendering construction projects across multiple market sectors
· Experience and understanding of the Australian construction delivery and construction models and contracts
· Experience and understanding of Cubit Estimating Software
· Experience and understanding of Procore
· Diploma / Degree in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying or related field
· Excellent communication skills- both written and verbal
· Excellent Time Management Skills
