Consulate Staff - Administration Section

About the role

We are seeking a candidate to fill a full-time (locally engaged) staff position in the Administration Section at the Consulate-General of Japan in Sydney. The employee will perform a wide range of administrative duties. The position is based in the Sydney CBD and does not include working-from-home arrangements.

Duties

  • Various administrative duties
  • General accounting 
  • Various property maintenance
  • Vehicle schedule maintenance
  • Conducting research on various topics as requested
  • Supporting and assisting various events
  • Administrative support tasks and other duties as directed

Skills & Selection Criteria

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Visa holder only (not on Bridging Visa)
  • Native level of Japanese (reading, writing, speaking) is essential
  • Strong writing and fluent English skills are essential
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft suites (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Local (Sydney) knowledge skills are desirable, but not essential
