The Organisation
You will be working in a rural referral hospital offering 282 beds, making it the biggest healthcare facility in NSW outside the Sydney-Wollongong-Newcastle metropolis.
The hospital has a 24-hour emergency department, high-level surgical and medical services, including a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterisation laboratory, intensive care, coronary care, rehabilitation services (including brain injury), Diabetes Centre, mental health unit, renal services, paediatrics, maternity, oncology, radiology and pathology.
The 24-hour Emergency Department is the busiest non-metro ED in NSW with approximately 45,000 presentations per annum (25% admitted and 27% paediatric) and it provides a tertiary referral service for patients for the region.
The Job

• As part of a dedicated team of Emergency Medicine specialists, you will deliver excellence in clinical care to every patient, every time
• As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, you will actively participate in risk management and quality programs to improve organisational processes and own practices
• Your core scope of practice includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management, evaluation and treatment of shock, priorities in trauma management, control of haemorrhage, procedural sedation and the initial treatment of all other clinical emergencies
• You will be responsible for providing admission, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on-call services

Requirements

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent
