The Facility

The General Medical Unit consistently manages around 90 inpatients, catering to both elective and emergency cases. It serves as a crucial link to metropolitan hospitals when necessary. With a stable nursing staff, the unit provides reliable and supportive resources. Within the Endocrinology unit, there is an Advanced Trainee (Core) from the Victorian/Tasmania consortium, complemented by two staff specialists and a Fractional Specialist (VMO) specializing in General Medicine and Endocrinology. An array of specialised clinics includes General Diabetes, General Endocrinology, Pregnancy, High-Risk Foot, Insulin Pump, and Endocrine/Oncology, ensuring a holistic and well-rounded approach to patient care.
The Requirements
- Full unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner / Specialist in General Medicine and or Endocrinology (or have dual specialities)
- Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Physicians in General Medicine and Endocrinology.
- Demonstrated clinical ability commensurate with that expected of a consultant physician.
