The Department:
The Department of General Medicine is one of the largest departments at RCH. At any time, a total of 91 staff (Senior Medical, Junior Medical, Nursing, and Administrative) work in the Department. The Department of General Medicine has a range of sub-specialty interests in addition to General Paediatrics and is committed to the delivery of high-quality evidence-based care. There are 5 subspecialty units within it, Infectious Diseases, Vascular Anomalies/paediatric skin, Rheumatology, Refugee/Migrant Health and Clinical Pharmacology.
The Role:
A part time, long service leave cover (0.48 FTE; 16.80 hours per week) for the below three periods:
-18 March 2024 - 28 April 2024
- 3 June 2024 - 7 July 2024
- 15 July 2024 - 28 July 2024
The locum consultant role will provide care for the vascular anomalies and paediatric skin service including 3.5 weekly outpatient clinic (Vascular Anomalies / paediatric skin). The locum consultant will at times be called to give advice about inpatients with complex vascular anomalies.
0.4FTE: Outpatients – weekly clinic (Tues PM, Thurs PM, Fri AM, Fri PM)
0.08FTE: CST
To be successful, you will have:
- MBBS (or equivalent)
- FRACP - General Paediatrics (or equivalent)
- Specialist registration with AHPRA and eligibility for medical registration within Victoria
- Some experience in provision of care to patients with complex vascular anomalies, including the ability to manage ongoing patient treatments with oral agents used in vascular medicine including sirolimus, alpelisib and thalidomide.
