  • Northern Adelaide Local Health Network - Lyell McEwin Hospital - Elizabeth Vale & Port Pirie
  • Total Indicative Remuneration: $346,650 - $778,921 p.a. (pro rata)- MD2
  • Temporary Part-Time - 18.75 hours per week - Up to 20 September 2024

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a General Surgery Consultant within the Division of Surgical Specialties and Anaesthetics.
  • The appointee will have an FRACS or equivalent and be eligible for enrolment on the Specialist Register of South Australia.
  • Involvement in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
  • Involvement in continuing education activities.
  • Involvement in Patient Safety and Clinical Risk Management activities. Incumbent will be responsible for managing the care of all patients allocated to them in collaboration with the responsible Medical Officers, Registrars, fellow Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.
  • Incumbent must undertake a commitment to continuous quality improvement activities including regular Surgical Audit.
  • Will have extensive experience and undertaken specialised training in the field of General surgery.
  • Will be responsible for managing the care of patients in consultation with the responsible Registrars, Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.
To be eligible for this position, you must
  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
  • Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
