We are excited to share here at Head Medical we are actively working with a major clinical and specialist referral centre for southwest Victoria who are seeking to appointment of a Consultant Nephrologist, consulting as part of the general medical team.
Working as a Consultant Nephrologist you'll:

• Provide direct clinical care to patients requiring emergency general medical and nephrology services. Emergency cases are accommodated as the need arises. Ward rounds will be conducted as needed, generally on a daily basis.
• Provision of Nephrology services to patients designated as under your direct care and to patients you are asked to consult in nephrology
• Provision of public Nephrology and general medicine outpatient clinics.
• Provision of services to and supervision of the Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Unit
• Provide general medical on-call and recall services in association with other General Medicine Physicians as agreed in the employment contract.
• Supervise the clinical care provided by general medicine and nephrology registrar/Hospital Medical Officers involved in the care of patients.
• Have relevant clinical involvement in the Healthcare trauma team.
• Participate in the Healthcare Medical Displan as relevant.
• Assist in the ongoing Quality Improvement and Clinical Risk Management activities of the Nephrology services, including participation in the regular audits.

Essential to apply

• Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABIM certified) or New Zealand.
• Experience in teaching and training of undergraduate medical students and post graduate Hospital Medical Officers and Registrars.
• Experience and skills in the field of Nephrology appropriate to practicing in a regional area
• An understanding of the role of evidence based medicine in the practice of Nephrology.
• An understanding of quality and safety in the practice of Nephrology. Management:
• An ability to participate in an effective clinical team.
