About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Child Development Unit as a Paediatric Consultant, where you will be responsible for:
- Undertake specialist medical and developmental assessment of children with complex developmental problems and to understand highly complex clinical presentations by applying knowledge of Child Development processes, theory and practice.
- Provide a consultancy and advisory service to management and staff at all levels and to establish and maintain both integrity and confidentiality in dealing with issues of a sensitive nature
- Provide a clinical service of high standard to the patients of the Child Development Unit
- Participate in teaching and research activities that may be required
- Write comprehensive and accurate clinical reports and communicate, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of people on a range of sensitive and complex issues
- Develop education, supervision, and research portfolios.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualification for Consultant/Senior Consultant registrable as a Specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- FRACP (Paediatrics) or equivalent
- Proof of current participation in Specialty College CPD program, where applicable
- Demonstrated experience in the field of developmental and behavioural paediatrics, working with children and families with complex developmental concerns across a range of settings
- Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards.
- Demonstrated leadership and motivation skills, and in the evaluation of clinical services.
