The OrganisationWork at the only paediatric tertiary teaching hospital in the Australian Capital Territory and surrounding NSW region, serving a population of over half a million. The hospital is a modern 600-bed hospital providing most major medical and surgical sub-specialty services.Paediatrics at the Hospital can cater for up to 48 inpatients and has an active medical and surgical day stay and clinical investigation unit and a busy and growing outpatient department.The Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Service at Canberra Hospital offers coordinated and integrated inpatient and outpatient care for children, young people, and their families dealing with diabetes and other endocrine conditions.
The Job

• As a Consultant Paediatrician, you will manage inpatients and outpatients referred to the Paediatric Service with Diabetes and Endocrine disorders
• You will work alongside the existing paediatric endocrinologists and general paediatricians
• You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and skills through mentoring and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate multidisciplinary students and team members
• You will contribute to research in areas of medical interest related to the clinical practice or science of Paediatrics and Paediatric Endocrinology
• You will contribute to the on-call requirements in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes and provide support for acute paediatric inpatients

Requirements

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent
• Experience in the practice of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes.
