The Organisation
The 142-bed acute hospital provides a comprehensive range of health care services including acute inpatient and outpatient services and community health, oral health and community mental health services, some of which are provided at off-campus sites. The hospital is currently undergoing a major multi-million-dollar upgrade including an expanded Emergency Department, ICU and Education Centre.
The Mental Health Service provides inpatient services and is supported by a 22-bed Community Care Unit and a 10-bed Step Up Step Down sub-acute unit. Community Mental Health Services are provided through the Community Mental Health Centres. The Hospital in the Home mental health program provides high-level care in a community setting. There is a strong emphasis on collaborative care and maintenance of a culture of routine delivery of the best possible care in a family-inclusive manner with a strong focus on relapse prevention.
The Job
- As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide expert Psychiatric care and advice to patients attending Mental Health Services out-patient, in-patient and hospital-in-the-home
- You will provide professional leadership in the area of Mental Health within a multidisciplinary environment
- You will have the opportunity to train, educate and supervise junior medical staff and other healthcare team members
- Collaborating with other members of the multidisciplinary team and, facilitating multidisciplinary team and family meetings, to ensure positive consumer outcomes

Requirements
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), or equivalent
