The Organisation
The hospital is one of the largest in Western Australia, treating more than 70,000 inpatients annually, and providing comprehensive acute medical care to public and private patients.
The hospital recently opened a recovery-focused 102-bed Mental Health Service offering adult inpatient care, youth (16-24 years) and older adult (65+ years) inpatients, offering open and secure accommodation. Additionally, there is also a ten-bed Emergency Department, Mental Health Observation Area (MHOA) and Consultation-Liaison service
The Job
- As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will join a multidisciplinary team consisting of a Psychiatrist, Registrar, RMO/Intern, nursing staff, allied health, clinical psychologist, alcohol and other drugs in-reach service
- You will be involved in the assessment and management of people within the newly built mental health unit
- Sessional consulting rooms are also available for private practice
- As a Consultant Psychiatry, you will provide teaching and training for RANZCP trainees, participate in the hospital’s postgraduate medical education program and provide undergraduate education to medical students
- You will join a consultants’ after-hours roster to provide after-hours on-call and call-back service

Requirements
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), or equivalent
