The Role
The Location
Situated approximately 600km from the state capital, Perth, this town stands out as a unique anomaly in Australia—an enduring goldmining town that has been in operation since 1893, unlike the typical ones that last only a few years. The town's main street is adorned with magnificent buildings, each serving as a testament to the wealth that has been amassed over the years. It is a city that deserves to be appreciated and cherished. The Goldfields - Esperance region has a relatively young population hence there is a wide variety of surgical presentations. There is also a sizable population of Aboriginal patients providing fantastic opportunities to learn their culture and be involved in the care of these patients close to home.
The Facility
Our client operates a regional public hospital in WA, boasting 131 beds and a team of over 350 qualified medical practitioners. In a significant $59.6 million redevelopment of the main campus, completed in 2015, visitors and locals now enjoy access to upgraded, modern treatment facilities. This redevelopment included earlier phases that incorporated a palliative care unit, a new emergency department, a high dependency unit, and a medical imaging department. The completion of clinical works seamlessly integrates with these earlier phases, enhancing the overall healthcare infrastructure.
