This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing, with the employment type to be determined in negotiation with the preferred candidate and the PM&C delegate.
Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, this would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years.
A non-ongoing offer may result in conversion to an ongoing offer of employment, however this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.

You will work with a high-performing team to deliver management consultancy projects for Australian Public Service clients.
Consultant – APS 6
As a Consultant, you will:
- Apply AGC’s consulting methodologies to deliver high quality projects.
- Skilfully engage with diverse stakeholders inside and outside of government – from senior officials to community leaders.
- Apply strong critical and strategic thinking and an entrepreneurial mind-set.
- Apply structured problem solving techniques to policy and organisational challenges, facilitate workshops and interviews, analyse data and produce meaningful reports
- Analyse key resources to generate meaningful insights and recommendations for clients.
As a Senior Consultant, you will:
- Deliver end-to-end high quality strategic consulting projects that meet client needs, with a focus on providing strategic advice or building high-performing government agencies.
- Manage client engagements, and skilfully engage with key stakeholders to influence outcomes.
- Provide thought leadership across AGC, lending your expertise to other project teams and proposing innovative ideas and solutions to drive AGC forward.
- Apply strong critical and strategic thinking and an entrepreneurial mind-set.
- Apply structured problem solving techniques to policy and organisational challenges, facilitate workshops and interviews, analyse data and produce meaningful reports
- Apply a rigorous, analytical approach to get across information quickly and generate meaningful insights.
- Manage and mentor AGC staff in a positive and uplifting manner, contributing to AGC’s culture and capability.
- Experience in a consulting services environment that aligns with our strategic policy and organisational transformation service offerings
- Experience supporting the planning, managing and delivering of complex projects
