This role is split into two areas: Consumer insights and Sensory. You would work closely with an entire cluster, as well as Procurement, R&D and Marketing.
Sensory capability & scope
- Sensory set up, testing and facilitation of internal sensory projects
- Set up an internal consumer sensory capability framework
- Facilitate internal consumer sensory studies
- Training & upskilling teams throughout the corporate business & sites in sensory capability
- Triangel/triad testing DoD, Similarity testing, Marketing Baskets et.
- Supporting Sensory requirements across the business including projects for:
- Procurement – ESG/VE/DTV & Change control - 63% of projects & approx. 80% of time
- Marketing – Innovation – 37% of projects & 20% of time
- Managing Sensory kitchen support person – part time/temp, 1-2 days per week
- Liaising with Culinary Excellence center on Sensory protocols & systems
- Reporting on results of testing & engaging stakeholders with these tests
- Driving engagement with Sensory internally including the set up of a ‘Sensory Club’
Insights Partnership scope
- Cluster Insights partner – advising, consulting & support for Marketing activities across Cluster including:
- Innovation – 6P testing & advisory
- Communications – testing & advisory
- Brand Health
- Commercial Mix Modelling
- Syndicated studies
- Desk research where needed
- Voice of consumer across all activities
- Analyze and synthesize learnings from research, drawing strategic conclusions, and recommendations that are evidence based and actionable
- Collaborate, communicate and present research insights effectively to relevant stakeholders across Marketing, R&D, Sales, Category and Revenue Management teams for relevant projects
- Lead, manage and evaluate projects and relationships, outputs of research agencies
- Being the voice of the consumer for the business - championing and promoting our consumer first values
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field will be beneficial including Science, R&D, Marketing, Business, Psychology
- An early background in consumer/market research, sensory research, Consumer Insights, marketing or product development will be preferred
- Demonstrated experience working in an independent role where ability to influence and persuade others is key
- Strong understanding of sensory methodologies & experience running sensory studies
- Understanding of Insights methodology, project management & the provision of actionable, evidence based recommendations to the marketing team.
- Must harvest a passion for consumer behavior – to understand what makes them tick, be a thought leader and naturally curious
- Must have experience or key interest in the food and beverage industry
- Managing part-time/contract support personnel for sensory work
