About the Library
The Flinders University Library is a pivotal resource, instrumental in supporting the achievement of the University's goals and mission. The team is dedicated to enabling equitable access to information, the library is critical to the University's learning and research endeavours.
About the Role
We have an incredible and rare opening within our Library team as the Content Strategy Lead. This critical position is responsible for overseeing essential library functions provided by the Collection Strategy and Information Management Strategy teams. This role is a pivotal part of the library leadership team, and involves leading the relevant teams, operational management and meeting financial targets.
Some of the key responsibilities of the position are:
- Managing Library collections and information activities, including research publications metadata, open access compliance, records management, and archives.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement in operational processes and service delivery.
- Providing oversight of the budget through financial analysis and reporting for management.
- Creating effective reports and statistical analyses to meet organisational needs.
- Developing and supporting an agile culture of creativity and innovation through collaboration and engagement across the Library and the University community.

Some of the key position capabilities of the role include:
- Demonstrated broad to extensive experience in leading and supporting managers to deliver responsive, effective, consistent, and innovative services.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, prioritising and allocating human and financial resources to meet strategic priorities.
- Broad to extensive leadership experience in an academic library including the ability to lead people effectively through significant workplace change and manage projects and coordinate teams/groups to achieve successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated high level ability to develop new initiatives, developing and leveraging collaborative relations across and outside the organisation.
- Demonstrated broad to extensive experience in managing budgets, financial analysis and reporting.
Previous higher education experience is desirable.
