The Sourcing and Vendor Management Branch provides specialist, end to end procurement and contract management services to meet the Department of Home Affairs' ICT capability needs, achieve value for money outcomes and reduce risk for the Department.
The ICT Vendor Management Section manages relationships and contracts with strategic, critical, important and commodity vendors, as well as other Government Agencies where Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) exists between Home Affairs and those agencies.

Our ideal candidate
As an EL1 Contract Manager you will be responsible for managing contracts of strategic, critical, important and commodity-based vendors. The role will lead a small team of contract management professionals and support the development of the contract management capability for the Department.
We are looking for talented, enthusiastic individuals that:
- Have a desire to ensure our contracts are high-performing and deliver value-for-money
- Have an ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders, including colleagues, business teams, senior executives and contracted vendors
- Have an ability to analyse and work through complex problems, utilising appropriate research to identify and recommend courses of action
- Enjoy leading, coaching, and developing junior level staff of the section.
Duties and responsibilities
- Relationship management of both vendors and internal stakeholders
- Create and review executive briefs, advice, meeting minutes and contract documents, utilising a high attention-to-detail
- Utilise strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively manage vendors into meeting expectations and collaborating effectively within Home Affairs
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures
- Managing risks associated with contract management activities, vendor performance, compliance with mandatory requirements and suggesting relevant improvement.
Additional information
Highly Desirable
- A Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Government (Procurement & Contracts)
- Demonstrated previous experience in the management of high-value procurements and/or contracts, preferably in an ICT environment
- An understanding of Commonwealth procurement rules, processes and associated policies.

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
