Banyule Council's Building Maintenance team has an opportunity for an experienceContracts and Compliance Officer - whospecialises in facilities management to join their team on a full time bases.

Building Maintenance manages the scheduled life cyclemaintenance, reactive unplanned maintenance events and routine scheduledpreventative and compliance works across the 360 buildings and structures(shelters). TheBuilding Maintenance service primarily supports the delivery of the following:

  • Utilities infrastructure, power, water and gas
  • Heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
  • Building security
  • Essential safety measures compliance maintenance
  • Reactive, routine and scheduled repairs and maintenanceto building assets and structures.
  • Minor planned maintenance projects to support thebuilding life cycle and presentation.

The role:

The role will be responsible for thedevelopment and management of building maintenance service contracts, as wellas ensuring the regulatory compliance for all Council owned Buildings isachieved. This role will build strong relationships with Council's service contractors,with clear communication and direction.

Skills, experience and certificates:

  • Tertiary qualifications with extensive experience ina process, quality, and continuous improvement driven environment, or extensiveexperience in facility management contracts and compliance.
  • Extensive experience in contract management, includingmanagement and development of Key Performance Indicators, contract reporting,tender preparation, development of specifications and contract variations.
  • Experience in managing regulatory compliance, includingEssential Safety Measures (ESM) annual reports desirable.
  • Experience in building asset lifecycle management andinterpreting of asset management schedules and data.
  • Well developed communication skills to engage with a range ofinternal and external stakeholders, contractors and industry bodies, to producepositive and effective outcomes.
  • Effective writing skills, incorporating the ability toproduce various documents and reports for a range of audiences.
  • Experience in management of significant budgets, includingbudget development and forecasting.

Mandatory Pre-Employment screening:
