Your opportunity
Due to continued growth, our Sydney Rail team is looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to be a part of key projects that will shape the communities in which we live. These roles will see you working on city-shaping projects across New South Wales while you will have the opportunity to build a dynamic career. You will have the opportunity to:
- Acting as the Engineer responsible for Control Systems (SCADA-based, PLC-based, industrial, fire-life-safety, mission-critical, networked or any other type of centralized, decentralized and distributed control system) and provide domain expertise in Sydney Metro and within Mott MacDonald.
- Developing control strategies, flow-charts, control logic narrative, instrumentation specifications, signalling lists (I/O lists), cause & effect matrices and mode tables.
- Specifying end-to-end functions and systems dependencies (interfaces) and ensuring that all physical and logical interfaces are properly designed, implemented, tested, and commissioned.
- Developing test plans, procedures, methodologies and schedules for the different testing and commissioning stages of a large-scale infrastructure project (off-site tests, on-site tests, performance tests and operational readiness tests).
- Collecting test results / evidence on-site (including supervision of testing activities and performing independent tests/measurements when required) and ensuring that the associated project requirements are fulfilled.
- Providing technical advice on system engineering, design and assurance matters considering delivery, operation and maintenance of the system.
- Identifying risks (safety, operational, RAM and security) and proposing mitigation measures.
- Reviewing technical documents (designs, standards, safety requirements, shop-drawings, I/O lists, material specifications, operating procedures, O&M manuals etc.).
About you
You'll have considerable experience within industry, working on complex engineering projects and a qualified Engineer. You will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, abilities and experience:
- Degree in a relevant Engineering field, e.g. Electrical & Computer engineering, Control Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
- Demonstrable hands-on experience of testing and commissioning activities; shop-drawings preparation and requirements verification and validation processes
- Technical experience across the application of Safety Integrity Level requirements; as well as in configuration and troubleshooting of PLC-based Control Systems
- Familiar with relevant standards, codes and local regulations (e.g. ISO, IEC etc.);
- Understanding of required end-to-end functions (safety and non-safety) for a complex rail system to be ready to commence revenue operations
