Controls Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer with expertise in industrial automation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive proficiency in Rockwell and Siemens software packages for PLC, HMI, and drive systems. Experience with ABB robotics is advantageous but not essential, while familiarity with Citect SCADA systems is desirable. Key Responsibilities:

System Design and Development: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and develop advanced control systems for industrial automation projects. Participate in the conceptualization, architecture design, and selection of appropriate hardware and software components.
Programming and Configuration: Utilize expertise in Rockwell software packages (PLC, HMI, PowerFlex drives) and Siemens software (TIA Portal, drives, WinCC) to program, configure, and integrate control systems. Develop and implement robust logic, algorithms, and interfaces to ensure seamless system operation and performance optimization.
Testing and Optimization: Conduct comprehensive testing and optimization of control systems to validate functionality, reliability, and adherence to specifications. Identify and resolve technical issues, implement enhancements, and fine-tune system parameters to achieve optimal performance.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed documentation including system specifications, schematics, user manuals, and test reports. Maintain accurate records of configurations, changes, and updates for traceability and compliance purposes.
Commissioning and Deployment: Support the commissioning and deployment of automation systems at client sites. Collaborate with onsite teams to conduct testing, validation, and calibration activities. Provide technical assistance and training to end-users to facilitate smooth system integration and operation.
Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to exchange ideas, share insights, and coordinate project activities. Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot complex issues, brainstorm solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously when required while also contributing positively to team dynamics.

Qualifications & Experience 
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
Extensive experience (5 years) as a Controls Engineer in the industrial automation sector.
Proficiency in all Rockwell software packages (PLC, HMI, PowerFlex drives) is essential.
Strong command of Siemens software (TIA Portal, drives, WinCC) is required.
Familiarity with ABB robotics is desirable but not essential.
Experience with Citect SCADA systems is advantageous.
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
