The Ensham operation consists of a highly productive UG bord & pillar mine and an open cut mine that is now a major rehabilitation project, with current production levels of 4 million tonnes per annum. Ensham has been a valued contributor to the Emerald community since 1993.
Join our team at Ensham as a Conveyor and Outbye Equipment Superintendent in a newly created role.
Reporting to the Underground Maintenance Manager, you'll get to put your own stamp on the role to lead, plan, and oversee the outbye maintenance activities of the mine, including conveyor maintenance, diesel equipment maintenance, and more.
How you will contribute:
- Demonstrated Underground Coal experience in a similar role.
- Lead, plan, organise, manage, and control maintenance in your area of responsibility in a safe, timely, effective, efficient, and cost-effective manner so that annual business targets are achieved. Areas of responsibility include:
- Underground conveyors
- Diesel equipment fleet
- Surface infrastructure (vent fans, compressed air / water services, power infrastructure)
- Application & compliance of Coal Mining Legislation, Ensham SHMS procedures and Engineering standards
- Ensuring safe systems of work and procedures are implemented, followed, and monitored.
- Contractor management within your areas of responsibility.
- Management of all maintenance activities within your area of responsibility.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with other departments within the business and relevant external bodies.
- Support the production department by providing reliable, well maintained, equipment and machinery to deliver operational KPI’s (tonnes/hr, panel availability, machine downtime).
- Lead a systematic approach to the identification and delivery of sustainable and improved maintenance processes and procedures.
- Contribute to strategies to minimise costs and maximise equipment availability.
- Budget preparation and cost management for your area of responsibility.
What we’re looking for:
- Trade Qualifications (mechanical or electrical) and / or relevant engineering degree
- Minimum 5yr experience with underground coal mining operations & equipment in a supervisory or similar role
- Total commitment to the mine safety initiatives & work practices
- Ability to work within and across diverse workgroups.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
