Job description

We are looking for a passionate and flexible Food Coordinator to join our Scarborough Centre.

The position is 5 hours a day, Monday to Friday. 8am to 1pm, but we can be flexible on start time.

The role is preparing and cooking nutritional meals for the children in our service.

While you may not be directly working with the children, you must have a warm and friendly nature. It is possible that you will be required to answer a variety of questions including but not limited to; who you are, what you are cooking, and ‘but why’.

Relationships are important within our team, as effective teamwork provides stability, job satisfaction and helps us navigate the day successfully. We have events for our team outside work hours such as our end of year expo, staff dinners, bus rallies and even nights away so we can relax and celebrate our successes together.

If this sounds like the position for you, we'd love to hear from you.

We believe that mealtimes are a great social experience where all children sit together to share a meal. In partnership, our role is to help develop healthy meal options and provide children with whole foods and healthy food choices during this time.

Benefits for the Right Candidate

  • Strong focus on work-life-balance.
  • Generous Staff Appreciation Budgets at each centre to strengthen relationships and reward our teams.
  • 80% discount on your childcare fees. (conditions apply)
  • Fantastic training and development programs.
  • Support and availability of a WA based Senior Management team.
  • Great company where the culture is fun, professional and supportive of all team members.
  • Relationship centred environments.
  • Uniform allocations (annual).

The Role

The role requires an experienced cook, with a similar philosophy, to deliver healthy and nutritionally balanced meals for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

  • Preparation and cooking of meals (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea).
  • Menu planning in accordance to management approval and centre budget.
  • Ensure familiarity of dietary requirements of children within the centre.
  • Ensure that a high level of hygiene, health and safety standards are maintained at all times.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in a home or commercial kitchen, is preferred.
  • Hold or willing to obtain a Food Safety Supervision Skill Set Certificate.
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Passionate about delivering healthy meals to children.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Can-do attitude.

To Apply

If you believe in the same values and feel you tick all the boxes for who we are looking for, we'd love to hear from you. Please send through your Resume today!
