Saint Raphael's Home for the Aged is a small Nursing Home dedicated to holistic care based on the philosophies of the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus. It's staff is committed to excellence in aged care, promoting and maintaining outcomes to enable residents to attain optimum quality of life. Saint Raphael's has 33 beds, caters to a wide diverse cultural community and it's modern kitchen dedicated to producing/offering a choice of culturally appropriate meals.

We are seeking applications for a permanent or part time position of Cook and Food Safety Supervisor.

The successful  candidate will have previous employment as a Cook and Food Safety Supervisor in a commercial kitchen and knowledge of aged care dietary needs.

Key Requirements.

• Able to perform assigned catering duties accurately and work within time limits.
• Maintain a pro-active attitude to work and towards co-workers.
• Demonstrate a consistent work standard and assist others to be successful. Can work independently when required.
• Readily understands and undertakes directions provided by the supervisor and is able to accurately report concerns.
• Able to respond to the flexible demands expected of aged care catering and, in most instances, accept the allocated shifts.

Experience and demonstrated ability.

• A working knowledge of commercial kitchen in aged care facility.
• Relevant experience and understanding of safe food preparation and food hygiene.
• Develop menus that cater for aged care dietary need. 

This is a permanent or part time position that is challenging and rewarding with competitive salary and salary sacrifice availability.

Salary. $61,516 to $64,833 

Registrations and Certifications.

• National Police Certificate.
• Certificate 111/1V in commercial cookery.
• Food safety Supervisor certificate.

Desirable Qualifications.

• HAC Certificate.
• Current Hand Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in preparing nourishing and appropriate meals to our multi-cultural clientele.
