We are seeking an experienced Chef / Cook to prepare warm, nutritional meals for a 110 children in our care using rotational menus at our centre in Riverstone North Western Sydney.
Our Childcare chef's work to a maximum of 36 hours week 5 days week Monday to Friday, 6 hours between the attractive hours of 7am to 2pm - No weekend work!
The successful candidate will have experience in a commercial cooking environment and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, children and families. You will develop and prepare seasonal nutritious menus and be responsible for ordering and managing food budgets. Having a passion and positive attitude for children's food and nutrition is essential.
Responsibilities required but not limited to:
- Ordering kitchen supplies
- Cutting, preparing & cooking meals
- Serving & assisting children during meal times
- Ensuring a clean & hygienic environment
- Washing & cleaning up after meal times
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, children & their families
- A Certificate in commercial cookery from TAFE (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a Child Care Centre cooking for children 0-5 years old or alternatively experience cooking in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of safety procedures and hygiene practices
- The ability to work with minimal supervision
- The ability to communicate effectively
- Pride and enthusiasm towards your work
- Working with Children Check NSW
A current NSW Working With Children Check clearance is required to work with children.
