The opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, this position will primarily be responsible for the coordination of operations at our Darwin site across Stevedoring and Terminal activities.
key responsibilities will include:
· Appropriate planning of vessel loading and unloading, including labour allocation.
· Creation of appropriate yard plans for container vessel operations.
· Completion of clerical work including customs and quarantine regulations.
· Obtaining information from customers about quantity and type of goods coming in and exiting the site and use this information for all forms of planning.
· Liaise with internal and external customers.
· Ensuring appropriate utilisation of plant and equipment to maximise efficiency and cost effectiveness.
· Supporting integration and cooperation between stevedoring, terminal, and depot operations.
· Completing all tasks whilst ensuring the adherence to LINX Group Safety Standards at all times.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have considerable experience in a related industry within transport and logistics with demonstrable skills in business, customer service or operations planning.
Other key skills will include:
· An ability to establish and build relationships with key clients, ensuring adequate servicing of their needs and expectations.
· Previous exposure to stevedoring or shipping operations would be advantageous.
· Experience with compliance systems and an intermediate to advanced ability with Microsoft Office suite.
· Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Flexible in nature with a willingness to assist where required and show initiative to anticipate the needs of customers and the business.
You will be a proven communicator with strong operational acumen along with highly developed organisational skills and an ability to multitask, prioritise and meet deadlines.
