The Coordinator of the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Team is responsible for supporting the Manager of Occupational Health & Safety with overseeing and leading a team of professionals dedicated to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees within Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS). This position requires a strong understanding of OHS regulations, policies, and best practices, as well as the ability to effectively implement and enforce them.
Key Selection Criteria:
• Demonstrate high levels of experience in continuous quality improvement, governance, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Demonstrated experience in the successful implementation and planning of quality, safety and risk Coordination systems.
• Proven ability to lead, communicate and collaborate and with key stakeholders working within a team environment.
• Ability to collect, analyse and identify themes related to quality and safety within MDAS and facilitate actions to address identified issues.
• Verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively across all MDAS locations.
• Solve problems based on operational knowledge and experience, scanning for useful information, looking for underlying causes and suggesting corrective actions. Ability to use problem solving skills to develop systems throughout the organisation to meet compliance needs and internal / external stakeholder needs.
• Take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services.
Qualification/s:
Diploma in Health, Business, Risk Management, OH&S or equivalent relevant to the role.

A current National Police Check.
