  • Classification - AHP2 - Allied Health Professional L2 - $86,950 to $100,729 pro rata
  • Full Time - Ongoing Permanent 

About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Child Development Unit team as a Coordinator (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Psychologist or Speech Pathologist), where you will be responsible for:

  • Functioning as an experienced clinician within an interdisciplinary team in the assessment of and intervention planning for children who present with diverse and complex developmental issues, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Drawing on your extensive knowledge, experience, and skill to triage referrals to the unit, collect and synthesise background information about the individual child’s development, coordinating and implementing a high quality multi-disciplinary assessment service for children presenting with complex developmental concerns in two or more areas of their development.
  • Ensuring optimal patient care outcomes for all referred children and their families by processing referrals and formulating an assessment plan utilising clinical reasoning skills and ensuring that decisions are made with the framework of family focused and patient centred care.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • High level skills in communication.
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of families with a child with a disability and able to respond in an appropriate manner.
  • Ability to empower families of children with developmental delay or disability and to effectively involve them in decision making processes.
  • Knowledge of Child Development and of the range of services available for children and their families within South Australia that promote Child Development.
