About the position
As our Coordinator Engineering Services, you'll be our driving technical excellence. You'll coordinate a team of talented engineers, overseeing projects and strategies, optimising processes, and ensuring the seamless delivery of engineering solutions.
Key Objectives:
- Manage the Engineering Strategy team to deliver strategic traffic, drainage, infrastructure and transportation services.
- Coordinate and lead development of Integrated Transport Planning for all modes, including public transport, walking and cycling
- Coordinate develop and review of strategic policies and plans relating to council storm water drainage and integrated water management.
- Effectively manage, strongly advocate for and represent Council’s interests in regard to the redevelopment and revitalisation projects within the municipality
This is a full-time role working 38 hours per week with remuneration equal to Band 8.
About you
To be successful in the role you will have the following skills and attributes:
Knowledge and skills:
- Extensive knowledge of transportation, civil engineering design and construction, facilities management and asset lifecycle management
- Demonstrated and extensive experience in project management and contract management;
- Demonstrated ability to prepare, implement and effectively manage an operating budget;
- Extensive experience in relationship building and client management;
- Demonstrated ability to manage change processes;
- Highly developed relevant analytical, problem solving, negotiation, technical and managerial skills;
- Strong commitment to delivery, customer service and operational efficiency;
- Strong financial skills and ability to establish and achieve performance targets;
- Strong strategic and conceptual skills;
- Excellent understanding of legal requirements, Acts and Regulations associated with the areas of responsibility; and
- Ability to prepare high quality correspondence, reports and policies from original ideas and concepts.
Management Skills
- Ability to manage projects and tasks involving both Council and external contributors
- Ability to set priorities, plan and organise workloads and monitor performance objectives despite conflicting pressures and to manage projects within budget and agreed timeframes.
- Highly developed political acumen to operate within a dynamic and diverse environment
- Ability to work collaboratively within Engineering Services and across all levels of Council to achieve positive results and outcomes.
- Ability to influence and gain cooperation from a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work harmoniously in a team and to promote a team approach to work practices.

This position is a Band 8 currently remunerated at $123,472.58 per annum, plus superannuation.
