The City is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified person to provide effective management and leadership to the City’s 500 plus hectares of natural areas as the Coordinator Natural Environment. In this role you will oversee the development and implementation of Natural Environment related operational programs and capital works projects. Coordinate the operational outcomes of the field teams and optimise resources, through the use of schedules, service level agreements, operational planning meetings and other works programs. The successful person will have considerable experience working in a diverse and busy environment, well developed organisational skills and sound knowledge of business systems and processes to be able to:

  • Coordinate the Natural Environment sub-unit including forward planning, and operational delivery of Natural Environment plans and programs to meet organisational and community requirements.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the capital works program for Natural Environment, including contract and project management responsibilities and oversight.
  • Undertake financial management and people management responsibilities.
  • Promote a safe working environment.

Applicants need to provide a covering letter addressing the following key criteria:

  • Extensive experience in the maintenance of the Natural Environment.
  • Extensive experience in revegetation techniques.
  • Extensive experience in capital works and operational budget preparation, monitoring and reporting in a corporate based financial/accounting system.
  • Extensive experience in people management including coaching and leading multi-disciplinary work teams and dealing with employee relations matters.
  • Extensive experience in project and contract management including tendering processes.

Appointment is subject to provision of a satisfactory National Police Certificate that is no more than three months old.
