Qualifications & experience

• Working knowledge of Op Shop operations including receiving donations and sorting items for sale. High level of accountability in terms of Cash and Eftpos takings from daily sales. Strong communication skills dealing with volunteer staff and customers.
• Familiarity with local community and various donation options as well as volunteer possibilities. Demonstrated experience leading a team.Demonstrated ability to maintain facility at high level of cleanliness and presentability.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Leading, growing, and developing a team of paid employees and volunteers. Organise the day-to-day tasks of the shop/work area, including sorting donations, restocking of the shop, shop displays, cleaning, delegate tasks.
• Ensuring extraordinary customer service is provided to every customer resolving issues in a timely and satisfactory manner. Embedding exceptional operational and visual merchandise standards. Meeting and exceeding sales and KPI performance of the store.
• Champion the voice of the donor by upholding the highest standards in product sorting, pricing, and placement. Building and supporting the volunteer workforce and engaging with the local community.
• Role-modelling a 'safety first' culture in store ensuring the adoption of WHS practices are followed by all. Supervise cashiers ensuring that daily takings are reconciled cash receipts and other financial information is taken to the chancery daily.
• Price jewellery, brick-a-brac, furniture, antiques, and donations accurately to reflect market price. Ensure that donations are stored correctly. Liaison with Chancery to ensure maintenance request, incident forms, and volunteer applications are recorded.
