The City of Mandurah is looking for an experienced and dynamic Coordinator Strategic Communications to elevate the City’s brand and reputation. You will lead the development, management and evaluation of all strategic internal and external communications including digital, in line with the City’s brand and communications strategic frameworks.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and accomplished Communications professional to join our team and work closely with the Executive Manager Communications and Civic Affairs to implement and evaluate the overarching Strategic Communications framework. You will lead a team of passionate and driven communications professionals, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and growth. The role is responsible for ensuring communications are delivered in line with the City’s brand strategic framework; and engaging new and existing audiences with the City’s vision, mission, activities, and impact to ensure consistent voice, compelling content creation, and strong results.
What you will bring to the team
  • Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or business or similar
  • 5+ years’ experience in corporate communications and major/complex campaign development
  • Proven digital communications experience across multiple channels
  • Team management experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service and relationship building skills including community engagement
  • Highly developed Strategic Communications development skills
  • Strong understanding of media issues and ability to work with the media
  • Strong understanding of consumer research methodologies
  • Highly developed planning, campaign, and brand management skills
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of marketing and communications strategies and ability to recommend changes and improvements
The finer details
This full-time permanent Level 9 position attracts a salary range of between $119,862 to $127,824 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience, plus car allowance.
